Youth Resource takes a holistic approach to sexual health and exploring issues of concern to LGBTQ youth, by providing information and offer support on sexual and reproductive health issues through education and advocacy.
Gay and Lesbian Mormons. Affirmation’s mission is to provide a forum for gay Mormons to associate with their peers. We seek to meet the needs of persons experiencing frustration or alienation from family, friends, and the Church because of their sexual orientation. In addition to offering assistance during life’s occasional struggles, Affirmation provides a lifelong opportunity for service, fun, friendship, personal enrichment, and spiritual growth. When the journey of self-discovery, particularly the process of reconciling our gay selves within the context of our Mormon spiritual and cultural heritage, seems almost more than we can handle, Affirmation offers the opportunity of understanding and support by friends who travel the same path.
As America’s umbrella organization and voice for bisexual, pan-sexual, fluid, queer-identified and all other of us“somewhere in between”people as well as their lesbian, gay, transgender, “straight but not narrow” and questioning friends and allies, BiNet USA facilitates the development of a cohesive network of independent bisexual and bi-friendly communities; promotes bisexual, pansexual and bi-inclusive visibility; and collects and distribute educational information regarding sexual orientation and gender identity with an emphasis on the bisexual and pansexual and allied communities.
The Deaf Queer Resource Center (DQRC) is a national nonprofit resource and information center for, by and about the Deaf Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Intersex and Questioning communities (hereafter referred to as the “Deaf Queer community”).
Much of the site is out of date or not working, but there is a good area with coming out stories in American Sign Language (ASL) and in written formats.
The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network strives to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. GLSEN seeks to develop school climates where difference is valued for the positive contribution it makes in creating a more vibrant and diverse community. We welcome as members any and all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity/expression or occupation, who are committed to seeing this philosophy realized in K-12 schools.
GLSEN is the best resource for issues dealing with schools and working with or establishing Gay/Straight Alliances(GSA). They also have information on bullying and setting up safe spaces.
The Intersex Society of North America (ISNA) is devoted to systemic change to end shame, secrecy, and unwanted genital surgeries for people born with an anatomy that someone decided is not standard for male or female.

The mission of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force is to build the grassroots power of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. We do this by training activists, equipping state and local organizations with the skills needed to organize broad-based campaigns to defeat anti-LGBT referendum and advance pro-LGBT legislation, and building the organizational capacity of our movement.
Our Policy Institute, the movement’s premier think tank, provides research and policy analysis to support the struggle for complete equality and to counter right-wing lies. As part of a broader social justice movement, we work to create a nation that respects the diversity of human expression and identity and creates opportunity for all.

The Safe Schools Coalition is an international public-private partnership in support of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth, that is working to help schools – at home and all over the world – become safe places where every family can belong, where every educator can teach, and where every child can learn, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.
The Transgender Law Center (TLC) is a civil rights organization advocating for transgender communities. Every day we connect transgender people and their families to technically sound and culturally competent legal services, increase acceptance and enforcement of laws and policies that support California’s transgender communities, and work to change laws and systems that fail to incorporate the needs and experiences of transgender people.
Trans Kids is primarily for teachers in primary schools. It is not just for teachers in primary schools with transgendered children in their class, it is for all primary school teachers. (However there is also material here which may be useful to secondary teachers and parents.)
All transgendered children have problems, but those problems are not caused by being transgendered, that is never a problem in itself. The problem is everyone else’s attitude towards transgendered children, whether they are other children, their parents, other children’s parents or school staff. This site aims to help rid transgendered children of the problems of other people’s negative opinions.

Community Resources
Hampton Roads, Virginia Gender Expression Movement – GEM provides advocacy, resources and education about gender identity issues and social support to the Transgender, Gender Non-conforming and Gender Questioning members of the Hampton Roads, Virginia Transgender community.
- GEM offers social support group meetings on the first and third Saturdays of each month in a relaxed all inclusive atmosphere.
- The Trans Masculine group and the Non-transitioning Significant Other, Friends and Family group meet monthly.
HRB is a social and support group for folks that are bi, bi-curious, bi-friendly, poly, T/G and other. Supportive members of the LGBT community are welcome!
