Below are the 2018 Hampton Roads Pride Scholarship Recipients. We are proud of all of our applicants and wish them all the best as they pursue their dreams.

Patrick Babb

From Virginia Beach: Attends Princess Anne High School, but I will be attending the George Washington University in the fall.

Plans to major in International Affairs at the George Washington University, and also wants to learn Russian.

Imogene Gross

From East Pennsboro Township, Pennsylvania: Attending East Pennsboro Area High School

Wants to attend either Franklin or Marshall College

Intended major in college is musicology.

I would like to thank Hampton Roads Pride for this exciting honor. I have had a very rewarding experience working in my high school’s GSA for the past four years, and I am looking forward to bring my experiences with me to foster future activism. This scholarship will help me greatly in continuing my dedication to the LGBT community as I move onward to build a career.”

Nicole Cason

From Virginia Beach: Attends Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond

Masters of Social Work — Clinical Concentration

I am so honored & grateful to be receiving the Hampton Roads Pride scholarship. This scholarship will help me complete my last year of my masters program and bring me one step closer to being able to provide professional mental health support to LGBTQ+ youth in Virginia”

Jeremy Shain

From Carrollton, Georgia: Attending Oregon State University pursuing a Phd in Counseling.

Completed a Graduate Certificate in LGBT Health Policy and Practice at George Washington University in Washington DC with a 4.0 GPA.

The following is the 2018 recipient of Hampton Roads Pride’s $2500 Business Scholarship in Partnership with Wells Fargo:

Tristan Hobbs

Attends: Longwood University and is studying business ministration with a concentration in information systems and cyber security
